This is typical of a fully automatic autochanger. That&#8217;s a lot of cleaning and fiddling to get it working properly. Not really worth it unless auto changers really are your thing. This turntable harks from an era when this was the norm. Players that only did one record at a time were only just starting to be popular. This, and the slightly refined mk II version, found use in later excellent garrard turntables, including the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wiredwood.co.uk\/wordpress\/garrard-zero-100sb-turntablean-appreciation\/\">Zero 100<\/a>, which I own and love. I <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wiredwood.co.uk\/wordpress\/garrard-synchro-lab-motor-repair-for-zero-100-sb-turntable\/\">have had one of these motors apart<\/a> if you are interested. These often don&#8217;t age well. The rubber perishes and goes hard or develops &#8220;flats&#8221; through poor storage. This is in great condition. Again it is used in several Garrard turntables, includng the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wiredwood.co.uk\/wordpress\/garrard-zero-100\/\">Original zero 100<\/a>. Often they have done their job of protecting the turntable within from harm, but have recieved much damage themselves in the process. This is a good one which will clean up nicely.<\/p>\r\n<figure id=\"attachment_2150\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2150\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2150\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wiredwood.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/garrard65b-002-300x233.jpg\" alt=\"Shure M75ED\" width=\"300\" height=\"233\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.wiredwood.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/garrard65b-002-300x233.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.wiredwood.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/garrard65b-002-1024x796.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.wiredwood.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/garrard65b-002-768x597.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.wiredwood.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/garrard65b-002-1536x1194.jpg 1536w, http:\/\/www.wiredwood.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/garrard65b-002.jpg 1830w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2150\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Shure M75ED<\/figcaption><\/figure>\r\n<p>Last, but certainly not least, is the rather nice<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wiredwood.co.uk\/wordpress\/perils-of-2nd-hand-cartridges-nagaoka-mp-10-shure-m75ed\/\"> M75ED<\/a> cartridge with a good stylus. Now fitted to my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wiredwood.co.uk\/wordpress\/on-the-case-of-a-dual-504-turntable\/\">Dual 504<\/a> turntable, this is the jewel in this find. Unfortunately it had been crudely fitted because the cartridge holder was damaged and the previous owner had glued it to the arm and permanently soldered across the connector. Fortunately I was able to remove the cartridge itself without damaging it.<\/p>\r\n<p>So, to summarise, I have salvaged:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Plinth and lid<\/li>\r\n<li>Synchrolab motor<\/li>\r\n<li>Idler wheel<\/li>\r\n<li>Spindles x 2<\/li>\r\n<li>Counter weight<\/li>\r\n<li>bearings<\/li>\r\n<li>tonearm cables<\/li>\r\n<li>cartridge cable<\/li>\r\n<li>Shure M75EB Cartridge<\/li>\r\n<li>Miscellaneous clips &amp; fastenings<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>All in all \u00a330 well spent.
